About Lauretta
I am a part time Biomedical Scientist working in Norwich. I have a passion for the sciences and in my spare time i encourage STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) career by my role as a STEM ambassador. I do this by going into schools, delivering presentations and setting up STEM based activities. I have a level 4 Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. This has equipped me to teach and deliver a learning plan based on each individual student learning style. I am friendly while being professional and determined to always get set tasks done and completed. I am fluent in English and a good communicator. I am a mother to three boys in primary schools to high school. I am fascinated with the mechanisms pathogens or bugs adopt in order to resist the harsh human environment and yet still thrive there in. The mechanism of gene mutation, acquiring and conferring antibiotic resistance is a big area of interest to me. How such minute organisms seem to develop and adapt these systems amaze me. I hope to convey the love of science to my students. It's a fascinating area with a whole world of lifetime opportunities
