I am a graduate student and tutor in the final year of a PhD in History at Cambridge. I tutor secondary school history students (at any level), and would additionally consider teaching undergraduate students in areas related to my specialisms; please get in touch to discuss your requirements further if this applies to you. I can also prepare students for Oxbridge interviews in history or related subjects - having studied at Cambridge for my BA, MPhil and PhD, and taught undergraduate students there myself, I have a clear grasp of what admissions interviewers are looking for and how a candidate can show these qualities to their best advantage.
I have a genuine love for my subject and love to pass on that enthusiasm to others. Every student is different and I tailor lessons to their individual needs, but my priority is always to make the subject engaging and relevant so that students are motivated to learn. In humanities subjects such as history, confidence is just as important as knowledge, and very often this is what holds students back. Consequently I aim to equip every student I teach with the confidence and independence to ask and answer their own questions, to challenge their preconceptions, and to form their own opinions on the subject matter. Besides covering course content, I can work with students on skills that can be applied to a range of humanities and social science subjects, such as writing style and essay structure.

Perfect! Look no further!
I booked a block of Skype lessons for my son a few weeks ahead of his A level history exam to both refresh on areas of content he wanted to recap on and optimise his exam approach. Lauren was an excellent help to him, she took time to understand how to maximise use of the available time and clearly explained things.
