About Lauren
I have recently achieved a Double First Class Degree in Politics and Sociology (HSPS) from the University of Cambridge. I have helped several successful Oxford and Cambridge applicants with their applications for Politics, HSPS, and Sociology. With Oxbridge admissions, I am very happy to host mock interviews, give advice, read and give advice on personal statements, and discuss admissions more generally
I also achieved A*A*A in my A levels, and have many resources for A level Politics, Sociology especially, which I could give pupils access to alongside my tutoring. These resources reach up to A*. I can discuss GCSE and A level history, having studied 20th century Britain, and US at both A level and degree level and have resources for this, that I used myself.
I am flexible as regards to how you learn best, and have tutored and gave extensive advice to many students in the past.
I can set essays and give feedback, help structure answers to questions that are likely to come up in exams. I can also discuss content, and make it understandable, up to A* level.

I previously reached out to Lauren for help with an application for a very competitive module at the University of Cambridge as I knew that she had an impressive track record with applications. Without asking for anything in return she patiently spent a lot of time giving me advice and editing my application. She is a very smart and talented young woman, and any student would be in good hands with her as their tutor.
Lauren is an exceptional young woman whom I have known and worked with for several years.
I first met her as Chair of Governors at Hartlepool Sixth Form College where she was elected as a student governor to the corporation’s board, on which she served for two years while completing her A-level studies. In that time she demonstrated her fierce intellect, problem solving abilities and nuanced thinking. This was a difficult time for the governing body and Lauren was required to deal with a raft of issues from student outcome data, financial accounts and external reports from third party organisations, including government agencies. I have no hesitation in saying that Lauren was an outstanding governor to have in these circumstances; she was always across the detail, always asking pertinent and probing questions and always prepared to take the difficult decisions necessary to drive forward improvement for the college.
As part of our work on raising achievement and pastoral care I was continuously struck by the compassion she showed toward student welfare and the need to consider every individual learner on a case by case basis to ensure that they make the very best of their talents. As a teacher myself this tailored approach to learning will serve her extremely well as a tutor. She has a considerable work ethic and her organisational skills are beyond reproach. She is dedicated, compassionate and has a laser like focus on doing the very best job she can in any circumstances.
As a tutor I know that she would bring all of these skills to the role and I have no hesitation in recommending her for it. She would be a considerable asset for any organisation.View more recommendations
