About Lakhvir
Born and raised in Birmingham, I was the first in my family to go to university, so academically didn't really have any awareness of or support to the importance of education. But here I am now working in London as a Python Software Engineer for a large financial company!
I did my undergraduate BSc Computer Science at the University of Nottingham and it was a brilliant experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my modules including programming and software methodologies(agile). During second year I was vice president of the Sikh society which enabled me to reach many students and have nice discussions and build my self confidence. I was also part of the computer science, hacking and economics+finance societies.
My tutoring style initially will be fairly hands on, i will create lesson plans to help us achieve multiple targets that we decide together. The lessons plans will have enough for you to stretch yourself but will also serve as a way of measuring your progress. Activities will be both individual and together, I.e we can work together to solve some things, as the joy of learning comes in working together. I'm pretty relaxed as a person, but know how to get us to achieve your goals so sometimes time discipline will be required, but you should just trust the process. I'm really adaptable so can easily work around different styles to help you get the best out of the sessions
I am bubbly and full of life and always be in high spirits. I believe life is about working together to improve the world and improve each other. I have a huge passion for helping others achieve their goals as I, unfortunately way too frequently in my life have needed support but never really got it. I want to give back and help inspire students to reach and exceed their potential whilst ensuring they foster a love for self improvement and continuous learning. I love meditating, exploring my religion and practising spirituality in every day life. I'm an avid reader and enjoy sharing what I learn from books with others.

Lakhvir is an experienced software developer working for Black Rock systems. He is very keen and full of life and always made the informal software lesson sessions we had very productive with clear goals. I learnt a lot and he was always keen to give me things to think about to enhance the learning and rather than spoon feed he posed questions that made me think a lot and help me improve my curiosity to find out things. Lakhvir always used real life examples and applications to explain concepts which made it easier to understand.
