About Kush
Hi, I'm Kush. I'm a first-year dental student at Queen Mary University of London.
My memories as a student when it came to exams, were quite daunting, whether that be 11+, GCSE's, or even A levels. After a lot of experience, I realised the importance of exam technique. I remember how valuable 1-to-1 tutoring was as a student. Each session allowed me to understand those tough topics whcih were briefly covered in the classroom. It was also an opportunity for me to work on my weaknesses and turn them into my strengths.
I am a friendly individual who is dedicated and passionate to help my students obtain the grades they aspire to achieve. I will try to make each session engaging and interesting. I can also empathise with my students as I know the intense pressure and burden there is on their shoulders in preparation for exams.
Before we start tutoring sessions, I'd like to get an idea of where you are currently and what targets you would like to reach. This would involve scheduling a short video call with you, just to get to know you a bit better. If possible, I would also like to see any past work or papers that you've completed. This will give me a greater insight into your knowledge base and from there we can create a plan of action!
When it comes to teaching, I like to teach the fundamental principles of the topic first. After attaining the knowledge, we can then learn to apply the foundations to practice questions. As we progress we will go over past paper questions (exam board specific) until the student is comfortable with that topic. Additionally, I always like to implement exam techniques when answering questions. This systematic approach as well as motivating and inspiring my students is the most efficient way I believe to make remarkable progress.
At the end of each session, we will decide on what we want to cover next session. This will give me time to prepare a lesson plan and source any materials required (ensuring no valuable time is wasted in each session).

I have had a couple of sessions with Kush, as I struggled understanding concepts within Human Biology. I am much more confident now within this topic area and actually find it really interesting. Kush has helped ease my stress when answering past paper questions as he helped me master my exam technique.
