About Konstantinos

Cheerful, inspiring and flexible tutoring

Hi, I'm Constantine! I've been tutoring English language and literature alongside Greek language and literature and Ancient and Modern History for nine years, all of which I have had and continue to have a passion and enthusiasm to teach and help students learn and achieve great results, as well as guide them to develop confidence in learning and the lifelong learning skills they will need in the future. I have taught these subjects in Australia, where I graduated from High School and in Greece where I received my Bachelor's Degree, using technology as one of the many teaching methods, which I believe can really improve the teaching and learning experience. I have completed a Master's Degree at the University of Oxford, studying the use of Digital Technologies in Education and the importance of Digital Education today. As for tutoring, for me, it is a multitude of tasks; a combination of traditional and new methods of teaching ("in front of the class" style or game-based style are two examples) and providing exercises, discussions and student involvement with topics they themselves wish to learn. Tutoring is a form of learning and teaching which is meant to suit the specific learning needs, different for each student. From experience, as a teacher and tutor as well as a student, motivation and engagement with learning is increased when the focus is on the student and what they enjoy learning and doing (i.e. playing computer games or using smartphones and tablets for everything, whether it is for learning or for leisure). With such approach, students can not only achieve lifelong learning skills but also anything they wish to become in the future!

Excellent Tutor

Written by Anna D
Konstantinos is a sociable, considerate, and efficient young man with a commendable sense of commitment to his work and education. His very good performance in Athens and Oxford proves his high academic potential but also a flexibility of mind and intellect which has made him an effective tutor of children and young adults here in Athens. For his Oxford MSc he practiced Digital Game-based learning activities and other cutting-edge technology-based educational methods, so I am confident that his approach to teaching is of high standard and appealing to students. A native speaker of both English and Greek, Konstantinos has the advantage of understanding the language needs of non-English speakers. I strongly recommend him for his strong academic skills and dependability.
