About Kaya
This year I have been part of a fantastic teaching and mentoring scheme at my university, and I would like to branch out from this to start tutoring on an individual basis. My subject areas include GCSE or A-Level Biology, Chemistry, French and German.
I'm an enthusiastic teacher and my aim is to try and engage students to enjoy their subjects as much as I do. I would like to create an enjoyable but challenging session to help students reach the best of their abilities and achieve excellent exam results.
I believe that a dynamic and flexible approach to teaching is key, and each session will be tailored to cover problem areas in a teaching style that is most effective for that particular student.
Practising questions is essential to translating all that hard work in to good exam results, and I would like to integrate exam-style questions in to my sessions as early as possible. From my own experience I know that this builds up confidence and is a true test of understanding, rather than just knowledge.
I'm a very open and friendly person, and I hope to reflect this in my teaching style and rapport with students. I am always happy to hear suggestions from students about the way they are taught and what they would like to gain from a session and from tutoring in general.
