About Kat
I am a Life Science consultant specialised in genetics. I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London. Back in the time when I was a student, I have a wide range of hobbies, such as music and art, however, they did not hinder me from achieving high academically. I want to use my experience in the past to help my student to understand and learn in an efficient way as well as enjoying life.
----------Biology, Chemistry, Maths----------
I enjoy teaching and have been a tutor for 10+ years. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I care about students, and I wish that they could learn to love Science and Maths as I do.
To achieve the high goals I set for my students, I require the cooperation of the student (revise :D ) and a change in their learning attitude. I believe that everyone is capable of getting an A*/9 in any subjects, as long as they are dedicated to achieving that goal. Every student is different, as such, I tailor my teaching methods to each individual student. I put emphasis on encouraging students, cultivating their natural interest and understanding of the subjects they chose to take. I have found this approach to be more effective in building confidence in students, motivating them, and in realizing their full potential - all of which are key to exam success.
I am very experienced in boosting exam grades and there are numerous success stories, my statistics for this year's GCSE/A-Levels are as follow:
GCSE: 81% achieved a 9; 90% achieved a 7 or above in the subject(s) I taught
A-Levels: 90% achieved a A or above in the subject(s) I taught
------ I also train students for international chemistry competition/challenges ------
***My students were the international winner of the US "You Be The Chemist Challenge" competition 2021-2022***
Benefit of participating the chemistry challenge group class:
1. Learn chemistry in advance (my students are now all top of the class in chemistry as they have already learnt the majority of the GCSE chemistry content)
2. Looks good on your CV - plan for the future, having an international challenge on your CV is a big plus for your university application
3. Fun and low time commitment (All I need from you is 40 hours of your time :D ! The small group class is very interactive and we sometimes do fun competitions)
If you are currently under the age of 15 and have 3 others highly motivated friends that would love to participant in an international challenge, please reach out to me :D

Perfect! Great Teacher
My daughter does not find biology difficult and Kat was quick to pick up that she didn't need block-one style learning help, and instead they spent their session talking through the best ways to get marks and how to achieve the most effective revision documents. All found very helpful, thanks.

Kat has been a very enthusiastic and positive teacher who has always been extra supportive and helpful both inside and outside of lessons. She has kept me motivated and I am going to continue maths at A level.
We have been really happy with Kat. She has improved our son immensely with his confidence in maths and science. We have tried other methods such as kumon, but that didn’t suit our son. Kat has way of finding the right method of learning which suits our son. We highly recommend her.
Kat has re-invigorated my daughter’s love of biology and chemistry. I can see that her confidence has swelled and she feels like she’s going to do a lot better in her GCSEs now.
I had a series of surgeries on my hand in my first A-level year, and spent a lot of time out of school. This lead to limited use for a number of months. Kat has helped me to keep on top of my grades, and excel further. She’s great to get along with, and so easy to contact. Definitely recommend.
Kat is a very friendly and professional tutor. My twins really enjoyed her class and always looked forward to learning more. It has been great seeing my children grow and achieve the goals and success which once looked impossible to them and to us. Thank you for all the hard work.
Great tutor, very patient and knowledgeable! I can completely rely on Kat and the lessons were very tailored to my needs. e.g. If I have an exam coming up and I want to do certain topics, Kat would prepare for me under short notice. Thank you Kat!
Kat helped my daughter with chemistry for her GCSE’s. She made concepts easy to understand and helped my daughter to become much more confident when sitting exams due to all the exam practice they had done.
Kat has been tutoring my daughter who is in year 11. Before having Kat my daughter was really struggling with maths and not enjoying the subject. From her first lesson with Kat every thing changed, my daughter has made great progress is doing very well in all her exams. My daughter says’Kat makes maths easy to understand because of her brilliant teaching and now I enjoy maths’ I highly recommend Kat she is a great teacher and a lovely reliable supportive person.
Kat is an efficient tutor, she doesn't waste time like some other tutors. She taught me different ways to revise and ways to do things easier/faster eg. quantitative chemistry The after class support was excellent, very glad that I found her.
Kat has been an insightful teacher for past several years. She has helped me not only to grasp difficult concepts but also to build up my confidence. Compared to other tutors that I've had in the past, she's the only one that has genuinely pushed and cared for my development. Highly recommended!
She is so helpful, organized, expert and lovely. She is also very willing to give extra time to teach and explain things outside of lessons. (Eg. She answered my questions at 11pm the day before my test, I am very grateful for that!) I highly recommend her.
We were nervous to use online tutoring at first, but It's the best thing we've ever done for our son's education! He was struggling in Chemistry and Maths. After Kat's lesson, he is really getting to grips with the subject now, is more confident, and made huge improvements in test results. Thank you Kat.
Kat tutored my son for over a year, and his grade has improved significantly. I am pleased with the tuition my son received from Kat. She made him feel at ease from the very beginning and my son always looks forward to the lessons. She is kind, patient, knowledgeable about the curriculum, always well prepared and makes learning fun.
Kat has really helped my daughter with her Maths GCSE preparation and confidence. She is punctual, friendly, prepared and has a great teaching method. My daughter had previously struggled in Maths and was initially predicted a C grade, but with Kat’s help, she achieved an A grade at Maths ! I would happily recommend her to anyone.
