About Josephine

Experienced teacher and languages graduate

I am a patient, sociable, enthusiastic and committed teacher who is passionate about learning. I qualified from the University of Bristol with a 2:1 in French and have also obtained a PGCE (Post graduate certificate of education). I am currently working as a Primary teacher in Watford. I have a wealth of experience working in education: as a classroom assistant and English teacher in 2 French schools, a learning support position in an inner-city London school and my most recent position as a class teacher and English subject leader at a rural primary school.

I have also worked as an art teacher in a summer school, teaching children as young as 6 and as old as 16. Equally, during my time working in a care home in Belgium, I taught arts and crafts to elderly residents, along with other duties of care,

As well as teaching, my time spent working and living in France and Belgium, along with my undergraduate degree, have developed a strong fluency and grasp of the French language.

These experiences, coupled with my strong subject knowledge, passion and natural talent for languages, provide me with the ideal background to tutor all ages with well-informed enthusiasm in French and English.

Primary teaching/tutoring reference

Written by Eilish B
Josephine has worked at St Paul's for the last three years. She began here in her final placement where I was her mentor. She worked with a Year 2 class who had a wide range of abilities. She adapted her teaching to accommodate all these needs. She always ensured she stretched the more able while at the same time ensuring she had visual aids/supports to ensure the children who struggled could access the same learning.

She then took up a permanent position at our school and began teaching Year 4. This she has done for over a year. She always delivers inspiration, exciting and engaging lessons. She treats all the children in her care with compassion and respect. She motivates them all to learn, bringing out the best in each of them. I have no hesitation in recommending Josephine for the job as a tutor in any of her fields of expertise. .
