A recent graduate from Keele University's undergraduate masters course in MGeoscience. This course meant I was fortunate to study two subjects whilst at university, Geology and Physical Geography giving me a large field of understanding for subjects I've always loved. I am currently studying towards an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Herriot-Watt and Edinburgh University.
My tutoring experience began at university where I had the chance to assist lectures in the teaching of other undergraduate geologists and geographers helping them gain experience in the practical application of the subject's. The most rewarding aspect of this teaching was seeing the excitement in a student after they have truly understood something which they previously did not. From this experience i believe it is important to bring life into my lessons by using practical but simple examples to illustrate concepts and broaden a students thinking further into their respective field.
I have always enjoyed working with young people and passing my knowledge to others to see them improve, which are the reasons behind my desire to teach. By forming good relations with my students and explaining the required concepts clearly, I manage to keep them interested in the subjects. Having achieved top grades in A-levels myself, I am able to guide my students to achieve exam success. My priority when tutoring is tailoring each of my lessons according to individual students, which is the key aspect of one-to-one tutoring.
I am also capable of tutoring Maths, History and all Sciences to GCSE standard.
