I am fascinated by science, mathematics, language and philosophy, and I enjoy helping others to extend their knowledge and understanding. I recently completed a PhD in Linguistics, as well as a Teaching and Research Fellowship in Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London. My research looks at the relationship between epistemology and language.
I make extensive use of past exam questions because the best way to do well in exams is to practise doing exams! This also allows realistic monitoring of performance as tutoring continues. I normally email exam questions for students to attempt before the tutoring session. Students should also have time to explore their own interests in the subject by asking questions of their own. This is an important part of reflective learning and will help build and maintain enthusiasm.
