About Joel

I'm a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, where I studied Mathematics, achieving a First in my MA and a Master's degree. My main area of study was applied mathematics and theoretical physics, with particular interest in subjects ranging from mathematical methods courses to Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity; my master's was primarily focused in fluid mechanics. I was a Senior Scholar for my final two years at Cambridge.
Since then, I've gone on to co-found SnapRevise, one of the UK's leading education technology platforms. I've spent years working with educators and students to develop the best strategies for effective learning and have thousands of hours of experience.
While this means I no longer tutor full time, I still have a passion to bring this knowledge and experience directly to students at any stage of a maths education, whether in an undergraduate Mathematics course, or still in school studying A-level or GCSE. I therefore still accept select students who are serious about transforming their understanding of their courses, and expect to deliver results.
At the university level I have particular experience in vector calculus, differential equations, variational principles and the use of Lagrangians, and other courses that form the bedrock of an applied mathematics or theoretical physics degree.
At A-level and GCSE, I have a relaxed ability to guide a student to a deeper familiarity with content such as differentiation, integration, algebraic manipulation and vectors. I can also provide help to any student requiring support with a Physics A-Level, whether they wish for tutoring in the mathematical or scientific part of the course.
At A-Level I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics Chemistry and History, achieving full marks in a number of the exams sat. I have a keen interest in history and chemistry and can also provide tutoring in these subjects at A-Level and below.
I am also experienced with the SAT I and II for admissions to colleges in the US, having previously sat these exams and secured a place to study at Yale, and can provide assistance to any student wishing to improve their scores.
It would be a pleasure to make use of the knowledge and skills I have gained over my years of study to improve the ability and understanding of any interested student in need of extra support.
