Motivated history undergraduate with flexible hours
My name is Joanna Stallard and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Exeter studying beginners' German alongside my History BA. I originate from North Wales where I studied my GCSEs and A levels gaining 5A*s, 4As and 1B at GCSE and A* AAB at A level. In my free time I have also achieved an A at the Extended project qualification and a Distinction at grade 6 singing. I am an enthusiastic student who would love to pass on the things that I have learnt so far to other young people. In the past three years I have served on various youth parliaments both on a local and national level as well as being part of my school and town council. The highlight of these activities was being able to stand at the dispatch box in the house of commons last year giving a short speech as one of two elected speakers for Wales. In my free time I also enjoy taking part in musical theatre, with my local operatic youth group I've had the honour of playing the roles of Nancy in 'Oliver!', Mr.Toad in 'The Adventures of Mr.Toad and Ann in 'Half a Sixpence.' Having sat my GCSEs a year in advance through my school's fast tracking scheme, in my enrichment year (year 11) I had the opportunity to spend a day each week volunteering in a special school which enabled me to gain a better understanding of working with young people. I am looking to teach young people from year 7 up to AS level (or A level in English, RS and History in which I achieved A*AA in that order at A level). I am also a fluent Welsh speaker who would be willing to teach Welsh to people of any age with an interest in the language.
