Helpful, friendly Cambridge graduate specialising in English
I'm an English PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, where I'm writing a thesis about Renaissance literature.
I did my undergraduate degree at Cambridge, and my Masters at Durham - where I came top of my year. I've always loved English, and am keen to make it fun and accessible to students across a range of abilities and levels.
I've got lots of tutoring experience in lots of different subjects and at lots of different levels. I've taught Maths to primary school children, and helped a student who was doing an MA in Security Studies. So if you need someone friendly and encouraging, whatever your subject, get in touch.
My main speciality is English, and I'm always excited when someone gets in touch looking for a little extra help in this area.
I am enhanced DBS / CRB checked.
What will our sessions look like?
During the sessions, you will guide what we cover.
This might take the form of practice with unseen poetry, finessing exam technique, or getting a handle on some critical terms. I am happy to tutor across a range of levels and abilities, and understand that different students need different kinds of help. No question is too basic!
The aim of these sessions is to make you confident, relaxed and happy, knowing that you can go into your exams and do your best.
I am also happy to tutor coursework essays, or to help with presentations or any other kind of assessment. I am also available for general tutoring, help with homeworks, or any other kind of query.
I'm applying to Oxbridge... Can you help me?!
Yes! I know that Oxbridge admissions are daunting, and I am happy to advise on admissions tests and interview technique or to answer any other questions you might have. I had a lot of fun in my Cambridge interview, and I would love to make the process less daunting. It's really not as scary as it sounds.
