My name is Jessica. I am from Galicia, close to Portugal. In Galicia, we speak two native languages Galician, similar to Portuguese, and Spanish. Galicia is famous for the Cathedral of Santiago, where the majority of Catholics walk at least once during their lives.
I have a degree in Spanish language and literature from the University of Santiago de Compostela. In this university work Dario Villanueva, the director of the Spanish Royal Academy of Language, and Guillermo Rojo. After I finish my degree, I did a PGCE in Spanish at the International University of Valencia. I focused my dissertation on the difficulties that English speakers find when they learn Spanish.
I have lived in Spain, Switzerland and England. I always wanted to be a teacher and I have been teaching my own language to people coming from different parts of the world for 8 years now. I worked with organisations like Red Cross, Tutor Fair and also in private and state schools and colleges in Spain and England.
I also have a passion for literature and one of my books has been published. Its name is El Reflejo del Alma. This is a collection of my own poems.
Speaking three languages has also allowed me to understand the challenges that students face while trying to learn an additional language. Because of this, I made my lessons flexible to my students' needs and I intend to satisfy them. My lessons are always easy and fun. I will make emphasis on the important things and will give you a full understanding of how Spanish works. I focus on the four skills speaking, reading, listening and writing.
I have experience working with children and adults. Whether you want to prepare for an exam or to gain the confidence that you need to speak to natives, I structure the lessons to fit every individual for optimum learning. This is because I understand that every person has different expectations and responds to learning in a different manner and tapping into the method that’s most applicable to students creates maximum learning for every lesson. I will offer you an assessment before you start your lessons and we will go from there.
