About Jerry
Hi! I am student, currently studying Mathematics with Actuarial Science at Queen Mary University of London.
A lot of students deem maths to be a difficult subject where their interests in maths is just to pass their exams. I would want to change this perspective of students. Mathematics is a systematic field that keeps our lives and the universe in an orderly manner. Everything that happens is all related to maths. That's how interesting and intriguing maths is! I would like to help to build more interest in maths in students so that they could enjoy how great and amazing maths is.
I believe by building more interest in maths, students would put more effort in learning and practicing on it. I believe that for anything subject, understanding and practice is key in acing the subject in exams.
I have some tutoring experience in which I tutor my juniors from high school. I would teach them concepts that helps them understand topics that initially didn't make sense to them. It always delights me when everything comes together for them, and am always happy to help friends tackle difficult maths problems and explaining it to them.
I have achieved three Grade 8 qualifications with ABRSM in piano, violin, and in cello, and have a year in teaching experience in piano and violin. I also have perfect pitch, which helps me a lot in not just my playing, but also in teaching students. Before coming to London, I was a member of my city's orchestra playing the violin. I am now currently in my university's orchestra also playing the violin.
