About Jane
I have been teaching English for the last eight years. For the last five years I have been teaching English and ESOL one to one in a local secondary school. I used a variety of teaching methods and styles to make the work fun. Sometimes the work involved boosting reading and writing skills sometimes it was working towards a GCSE . I have also been a class teacher, for five years for Key Stage 1. I have considerable experience of working with children who have learning difficulties and behaviour difficulties.
I have also taught ESOL at East Surrey College. The learners were in a mixed ability class ranging in age from fifteen years to fifty! The class was working towards achieving the Trinity Level 1/2 exam. All my learners passed for two years running! We also used ICT in the lessons.
I have been an English home tutor for the last six months. I love finding ways of engaging pupils so that the experience is meaningful and fun!
