Experienced Head of Mathematics at leading private school.
I am Secondary qualified Maths teacher with 11 years experience. The vast majority of this time I have been Head of Department in two of the countries largest Prep schools. I have always tutored pupils prominently for 11+, 13 + and GCSE's. I have worked with all ability levels whether helping a child reach a pass grade or scholarship candidates striving for awards. The children I teach and tutor go to leading independent schools around the country including Harrow, Eton, Winchester, Rugby and Marlborough.
Many pupils who I taught at prep school come back to me for GCSE tutoring. I am quietly pleased they do, they like my teaching style and know I will always support them through their exams. They will say I have a relaxed friendly teaching style which allows them to speak honestly to me before we tackle the goals they intend to achieve.
Due to me working at a boarding school I work at I only tutor during the holidays. I will always try and tailor my tutoring to the families calendars and the tutees needs.
Outside of Maths I have many interests. I have always been a keen sportsman representing Scotland U18 whilst I was a pupil at Uppingham. At Loughborough University I focused on endurance events such as the Marathon des Sables and Jungle Marathon. In 2013 I rowed across the Atlantic. Most recently I am playing squash and trying to get my handicap down in golf.
