About Isaac
I currently teach Edexcel History of Art for an educational charity in London. I also lecture on the public programme at the National Gallery.
Holding both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Art History, I have written for several Art History publications, including The Burlington Magazine, Burlington Contemporary and a-n. I am subscribed to the DBS update service and have previously undertaken Safeguarding and Child Protection training.
I believe myself to be a passionate and articulate speaker, with a desire to help students when they find things difficult. I overcame dyspraxia to achieve excellent academic results and appreciate that, at least at first, not everyone finds things easy. However, I have confidence that with diligent graft anything is possible.
I have previously taught the following A Level History of Art (Edexcel) modules:
A – Visual Analysis
B1 - Nature in Art and Architecture
B2 - Identities in Art and Architecture
B3 - War in Art and Architecture
C1 - Invention and Illusion: The Renaissance in Italy (1420-1520)
C2 - Power and Persuasion: The Baroque in Catholic Europe (1597-1685)
C3 – Rebellion and Revival: The British and French Avant-Garde (1848-1899)
C4 - Brave New World: Modernism in Europe (1900-1939)
When not tutoring, I like to paint, run marathons, travel, read literature or watch independent cinema.

• Help designing and executing a revision schedule.
Reference from Tallulah’s Mum, Kirsty: I would just like to add my thanks for the time and effort Isaac has made, he got on very well with Tallulah and she enjoyed their revision sessions together, feeling that she had gained a fresh perspective on her own knowledge and understanding of the subject. Isaac was very supportive and gave her some much needed confidence. I am very glad we found him! THANKYOU ISAAC.

I am an enthusiastic A Level Art History teacher, who has previously worked for schools (Wychwood School, Oxford and Collingham College, London) and educational charities.
I have developed resources (PowerPoints and Revision Notes) suitable for revision classes. I also have a good understanding of the A Level Art History syllabus and exam, which means that I am in a position to help students to develop effective question-answering techniques. I have worked with learners across all levels of achievement, learning to differentiate teaching methods to suit the student and have prior experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs and/or English as an Additional Language.

Isaac did an amazing job tutoring my daughter on writing her personal statement He was very patient and supportive and the result was a great success! He struck just the right balance between being encouraging and letting her work it out for herself. Definitely recommended! Thanks, Isaac.
Isaac Nugent is a brilliant tutor who helped me achieve an A in AS Level OCR Religious Studies. After just a few sessions with Isaac, I felt as though my knowledge of the subject had massively improved. His interactive teaching methods ensured that everything I learnt with him was consolidated during the lesson, which meant that revision was far from stressful. Isaac also presented the subject information in a very concise and memorable manner which made learning less difficult and more enjoyable. He is also polite, friendly and open-minded - I found our theological discussions to be very intriguing!
We have had a lot of experience with tutors over the years and Isaac Nugent stands out as one of the very best. He has in depth knowledge of his subject but also has a clear understanding of the importance of distilling information to reflect the precise contents of the exam specification, which in our case was AS Level Edexcel Government and Politics. Isaac is excellent when it comes to revision technique and study skills, which means he is able to impart the relevant subject information in a way that is both manageable and memorable. He is extremely clever, subtly tenacious and very patient – a great tutor.
