About Holly
PhD student at UCL. My name is Holly Bradley and I am 23 years old, I am looking for regular tutoring jobs in London ranging from infants to mature students.
I obtained all A - A* at GCSE, and A*AAAA* at A Level, a first class BA (Hons) degree in Linguistics with Mandarin Chinese from Lancaster University. I am now doing a ESRC funded MRes and PhD at UCL in the faculty of brain and language sciences. I finished my MRes and I am now into my second year of my PhD.
I have experience marking and helping students write undergraduate essays. I have also had experience teaching advanced grammar at Greenhead College, Huddersfield. On top of this I have worked at Lancaster University as a Mandarin Chinese tutor to both English and Chinese students.
My PhD research concerns child development and so working and helping children is something that I have a lot of experience with and genuinely enjoy. I also have experience teaching peers my own age and older adults and so I can vary my tutoring skills accordingly.
My specialities for tutoring would be English of all kinds (ranging from grammar to poetry analysis and accent help), although I also have good knowledge regarding economics and the sciences and a stable knowledge in all base subjects.

Holly has tutored me before and helped me with my grammar. I now feel a lot more confident with my writing style and i am able to structure essays a lot better.
Very helpful and delightful young lady
Would highly recommend.Holly was able to assist and help me during my final year of A-levels. Holly helped me with both English literature and the language side. She created revision techniques that helped me revise and remember what I needed to. She was kind, easy to speak to and very understanding. I would not hesitate to recommend Holly to anyone who needs that extra support, she's a superstar.
Holly was my absolute saviour during my second year at college. After just scrapping a C in my AS at English Language I really had a massive uphill battle to gain a B in my A-Level overall. As we were classroom buddies Holly eventually took it upon herself after seeing me struggle to arrange twice weekly tutorial sessions with me, working on the aspects of the previous year I hadn't grasped, current topics, as well as adding in her own advanced knowledge on topics which overall aided me massively. Not only did I begin to suddenly leap from C's to A's in essays and classroom work, I also actually began to enjoy the subject and was regularly called upon by our main tutor at the progress I had made.
I found it incredible that despite taking on her own A-Levels she still found 2 separate periods every week in the last term to sit with me in a quiet location and go through my own personal classroom work, upcoming assignments and even small pieces Holly herself had set me as mini homework pieces she felt fit me personally compared to the mass homework's set by the classroom tutor.
Overall Holly is an incredible woman with such a warm friendly personality and a striking ability to be able to identify and aid areas that may need a slight more push. She's incredible and I owe my entire A-Level in English Language to this amazing woman.Holly Bradley would be an excellent tutor of Chinese. She combines a strong academic background with a kind and patient manner. She is organised and self-motivated, having set-up placements for herself in China at the end of her second year of study. During those placements she did translation work and support work with disabled children.
Holly is a fantastic individual who is driven and always succeeds in attaining great results. She has shown this quality for a long period now and her thirst for success and achievement would benefit the person she would tutor greatly.
Holly is an articulate and cultured individual who has always shown a great desire to learn independently, this trait would be superbly passed onto anyone she would teach.
Overall, I feel that with her superb organisational skills and desire to excel, Holly would be an asset to anyone who was learning under her guidance. To whom it may concern,
Holly Bradley is an intelligent, committed, engaging and friendly individual. I knew Holly during the final stages of her studies for her under graduate degree. During which, I found that she was an extremely high performer, consistently obtaining extremely high grades as well as someone who was extremely well liked and was seen as a ‘go to’ person for help with linguistics.
During the final year, for a particularly difficult module, Holly coached a peer from near to no understanding of the subject to the point where the individual achieved a first in the final year exams.Holly tutored me for linguistic modules several times! She always managed to turn complex explanations into simpler bits of information that often made me think "why didn't I think of that before!?" She was patient and encouraging, and went about explaining things in a number of ways to ensure I fully understood. We went over past exam papers and Holly was so helpful, I'd go into my actual exams with her advice echoing in my head.
Not only is she an amazing tutor but she's also so friendly!View more recommendations
