About Henry

My objective is to ensure the highest possible KS2 to KS5 Sat score for your child in both English and Maths. I specialise in homeschooling and have a great record of success with children who have been excluded from mainstream education as a result of challenging behaviour. I work with both primary and secondary school children and my sessions exactly mirror the requirements of the national curriculum.

Maths is at the core of almost everything we do. From making online purchases to working out the probability of one's favourite team winning the football league, a firm grasp of Mathematics is the basis for any level of future education.

English is equally important. People who read regularly, develop a clearer understanding of important issues, and become better equipped to deal with the world around them. I have devised a well-tested schedule of work which operates across the KS2 to KS5 curriculum. In English and Maths.

Maths
The programme isolates modules such as Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Probability, Ratios, Graphs, Percentages, Area, Units of Measurement, and so on. I have devised techniques for making information 'Stick' and, I ensure that each module is fully understood before moving onto the next.

English
My programme is a reading-based. I read with students taking turns, page by page and then later discussing aspects of the books verbally and in the form of essays and questionnaires. We Read classics together such as 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, and 'The Pearl' by John Steinbeck. I am tactful with my corrections and issue weekly homework assignments which I appraise in my own time. My English students quickly become more articulate and develop the ability to understand more complex texts.

This is my eleventh year as a personal tutor and I have a 100% success rate with all of my young students attaining, or exceeding the targeted level at both SAT and GCSE stage. A great SAT score in year 6 in Primary School is vital. In my experience, this single score sets the tempo for all future learning. (KS3) (GCSE) (A-Level) (Degree and onwards) If you take the time now to ensure that your child has an exceptional work ethic at this stage, you will benefit them immeasurably. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) metric is by far the most significant indicator of the ability of a child, and every effort must be made to ensure that this figure is as high as it can possibly be prior to entry to Secondary school.

Regular mainstream schooling is often the best mode of education for a child, however: there are situations in which continued education within a challenging or toxic school environment should be avoided. In such a circumstance, whether the reason is child exclusion, or you simply feel that you would be able to offer your child a better independent education, please contact me. I am available for morning and early afternoon homeschooling sessions.

I visit your home and deliver results. I am able to offer Maths, English and Combined Science to KS2 level, and Maths and English to GCSE Grade 9 Standard. For a relatively small outlay, you can ensure that your child has the best possible start in life. Don't delay, contact me today and together we can ensure the educational success of your child.
