About Henry
Hello, I am a qualified English teacher with 2 years classroom experience. I have taught GCSE, A-level and Key Stage 3.
I have a PGCE from the University of Roehampton and a BA in English and Drama from Queen Mary, University of London. During that time I have studied and written essays on a wide range of subjects.
I have experience teaching English Language GCSE and Literature ensuring progress is made by my students. I have worked a lot with students who don’t always engage with English- in the classroom and in interventions. I also have experience of teaching students with English as an additional language at various degrees. In previous schools, I have lead small groups of writing workshops and worked with students with dyslexia helping them implement spelling strategies.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have engaged critically with what it means to teach English, whilst also gaining many of the skills needed to become a good teacher and achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). I am passionate about English and its study. I have begun to explore what it takes to become an inspirational teacher and I intend to continuously develop my practice throughout my career.
My favourite book is Flann O'Obrien's "The Third Policeman"
