Happy New Year to all my current and prospective students!
Musical Greetings to all :)

I hold a Master of Arts and a BMus Degree in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music, where I have studied with Professors Hu Kun and Igor Petrushevski. At that institution I was awarded a Santander Universities Award.

In 2007, I was invited to study with one of the most outstanding performing violinists, Benjamin Schmid - at the University of Arts in Bern, Switzerland, during two years - and I was also part of the elite group of students at the International Menuhin Music Academy, in Blonay, Switzerland, where I worked and learnt from great musicians.

In 2003 I moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music (with a full merit scholarship), and graduated in 2007 with Honours. During this period I was awarded a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, who generously supported my studies.

I was born in Portugal into a musical family and I started to play the violin at the age of 6. I was a laureate and winner in national and international competitions such as the Portuguese Young Musicians Award (Premio Jovens Musicos) , Juventude Musical Portuguesa (1st Prize), the Julio Cardona International String Competition (1st prize) and represented Portugal at the "Piccoli Mozart" musical event in Montecarlo, which was broadcasted internationally on TV.

During my musical journey I have been performing solo and chamber music concerts in Portugal, UK, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Monaco, Germany, USA, and more recently in Israel.
I have also played as member for various orchestras under renowned conductors, such as Sir Colin Davies, Vladimir Jurowski, Semyon Bychkov, Edward Gardner and many others.
In Portugal, I was a regular player with Porto Symphony Orchestra Casa da Música, one of the country's top orchestras, having toured not only Portugal, but also Spain and Brazil.

I have been teaching the violin for nearly ten years both in music conservatoires and privately. I have experience of teaching beginners to advanced students. However, I work more often with children.
I prepare students for ABRSM exams, competitions, entrance auditions, concerts, etc.

I believe that music is for everyone, whether working towards a career in music or not.
I feel motivated to teach towards serious goals, but I also enjoy very much teaching students who just want casual lessons - no matter their age or level - just because they love the instrument so much!
As a teacher, I see myself as being friendly, dedicated and persistent and always expect the best results from my students. I tailor my lessons to each one of them, taking into account their personality, abilities and own goals. And ultimately, I want my students to feel motivated and benefit from the lessons as much as possible.

I play on a Paul Kaul violin from 1928, named "Iphigénie".

The best violin tutor for students in London

Looking for a highly qualified violin tutor? Miss Heloisa Ribeiro is the best one we have met in many years. She helped my 10 years son from ABRSM grade 3, has got grade 5 level less than one year and his grade 4 passed with distinction! Nevertheless, as she was a young winner in the international violin competition and is a violin master degree soloist now; she can teach advantage to talented students in reasonable tutor fee. You may find it difficult to book a lesson from the world famous violinists if the student hasn't had perfect performance, but you can still have a chance to learn esoteric core skills of violin from her patient and careful teaching with her wonderful demonstration; I tell the truth not only from my son's result but also from my musical experience because I play violin since I was 6.
