I am a qualified teacher (post 16 yrs) and have many years experience of delivering one to one teaching to students from primary school age upwards. I am also qualified to teach children with Dyslexia.
For the last academic year I have been teaching students from 11 - 16 years old in the Educational Support Department in a local secondary school. I will be returning to that school in September, supporting students in their classroom environment.
I have struggled with the effects of being dyslexic myself which gives me an in-site in to how students can feel. My son who has now finished his schooling is also dyslexic and has achieved 5 GCSE`s.
There are many reasons children need extra support as they go through the education system in England but I believe every child can achieve success with the right structured input. Most of all they should enjoy their time when learning outside of the school day.
By using a wide variety of resources I will keep the lessons interesting and stimulating. We build on what the student already knows and by making sure they have a good foundation in literacy and maths they are then able to move forward.
