As a teacher, I want to create a fun, friendly learning environment, where you can explore your musical interests and make genuine progress. Some of my students have been taking lessons with me for 5+ years.
I am a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (jazz bass) and Cardiff University (guitar). I have substantial on-stage and studio experience as a professional bass player in a variety of genres.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in bass guitar, classical guitar and jazz improvisation but also teach A-level music, GCSE music, music theory and electric guitar.
I often get enquiries about more general areas of musicianship too, whether that’s working on rhythm & groove, composition, or improvisation. If there’s any aspect of music you’d like to learn about but don’t see it here, get in touch - I may be able to help.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed my studies for my masters in jazz bass at Guildhall in 2021. I graduated from Cardiff University's music degree in 2016 with first-class honours, winning the Cardiff University String Prize for my final guitar recital. Before university I achieved Grade 8 in both electric bass and classical guitar.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £38 per hour lesson, £28 for a 45 minute lesson and £19 for 30 minutes. I charge slightly more for intermediate-advanced bass. Travel expenses vary depending on distance.
- Where do you teach?
I mainly teach at home & online but can travel up to 6 miles.
- When are you available?
I currently have spaces available Monday-Thursday. Please enquire for specific times.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages 6 years and up, beginners to advanced players.
