About Hannah
Hi, my name is Hannah and I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge. I now hold a 1st class BA honours degree in Geography and I have been tutoring for the last 3 years since I finished my A-levels. During this time I have also taken on two research internships and a volunteer position held in Mauritius. Here I joined a team monitoring the coral reefs and the effects of coral bleaching. Having built up hundreds of hours of experience, I can now tutor all specifications with a very good understanding of the tutoring style that achieves the best results. Some of my previous students have obtained offers from Oxbridge with my help, whilst one of my most recent clients achieved 100% in her A-level Geography exam. I can offer advice for those planning to apply for top universities, including interview preparation and personal statements. Having gone through the experience myself, I can also provide Oxbridge applicants with the support they need to feel confident and perform at their best in what might seem a daunting and gruelling process.
At A-level I achieved 4A*s in Geography, Biology, Chemistry and an EPQ, which was based on the Cainozoic era and the extent to which continental drift contributed to climate change for the last 65 million years of Earth's history. In all my Geography exams I also achieved 100% UMS points, so I have an excellent understanding of content and how to answer exam questions to maximise marks. Most of my previous tutoring experience has been online, in which case I would prepare a worksheet or document for the student to print out before the lesson. I make sure everything we cover is linked straight back to the specification to help the student understand what exam questions are asking of them. With face-to-face tutoring I approach the session with a similar plan, but would incorporate more materials such as textbooks. In all my sessions I would include examples of exam questions and I write my own examples for students to learn from. I also provide my students with resources that may not be given to them in a normal classroom; including excellent revision websites and places they can find extra information on particular topics.
