I recently graduated from the University of Oxford with First in my BA in Classics, where I also received both an academic scholarship and exhibition during the course of my studies. I am therefore able to tutor Latin and Ancient Greek to any required level. I also achieved an A* in English Literature at A-Level.
I have a lot of experience in teaching and working with children. I have volunteered for the Minimus Project, teaching Latin to a group of children aged 9-11, and I mentored younger students in Classics at my school in one-to-one sessions. In addition, I set up and ran an extracurricular Classics club for younger students at my school while I was in sixth form and I volunteered for MENCAP, where I worked with children with learning disabilities, running drama games and similar activities to support the improvement of their communication skills.
As a tutor, I am committed to fully adapting my methods and style of teaching to suit the needs of individual students. I believe that this flexibility of approach is the most successful way of engaging and exciting a student about a subject. Another of my passions is theatre and performance, where I have learnt how to be a confident and effective communicator, while being consistently sensitive to the needs of others in order to get the best out of them.
