About Hal
I graduated from Oxford University this year with a degree in Philosophy and German, and I tutor these subjects as well as English.
I was awarded the Barron Scholarship at Oxford for oustanding academic achievement. I have in-depth knowledge of a wide range of topics across all of my teaching subjects, and I’ve been a tutor for a while now, teaching at both primary and secondary levels.
I'm available to tutor English literature and language skills, including comprehension and creative writing.
When teaching philosophy, I try to build upon my pupils’ natural curiosity, and to encourage active engagement with deep, fundamental questions. My German tutoring takes a balanced approach - I tend to focus upon developing language and literary skills simultaneously.
