I have worked both in public and private education across a range of subjects and therefore have not only a broad knowledge base but also a sensitivity to the unique needs of each pupil. Last summer I worked closely with the son of an UHNWI on location in Austria to tighten up his German before his A-Levels. More recently I was brought in to help a 16-year-old girl with her German GCSE mocks. She was the bottom in her class in speaking and after only three sessions she got the third-highest mark in her oral mock and was singled out for praise by her teacher for her grammatical accuracy. I am now working with her on a regular basis to prepare her for the exam this May.
Alongside languages, Art History is another of my passions. I work freelance for the Tate giving tours of both Tate Britain and Modern. I take a variety of different groups ranging from school and university groups to businesses and private couples. I love demystifying modern art for people and bringing out themes and links across the collections.
I am strongly motivated by a pupil's success and seeing how they grow in ability and confidence. I teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and find it extremely rewarding. Last summer I worked with a Spanish student who had failed twice to pass his IELTS test for admission to university. After only 5 sessions he successfully passed the exam and went on to study at university.
