I would say I'm a passionate educator of music and as a professional musician, I can draw from first hand knowledge and experience.
Since graduating in BA Jazz, I've played venues including Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scotts with bands such as The Jezebel Sextet, Sir Joe Quarterman, Incognito’s Linda Muriel, The GetUp, Velvet Stream, The Stylophones, Keke Mokoro and Ephemerals. I'm currently a member of one of the UK’s leading tribute bands to Pink Floyd- Think Floyd, who tour theatres and festivals at home and abroad.
On your first lesson, we’ll spend a little time discussing your musical interests and what inspires you to learn the saxophone. Having an aim in mind (for instance learning one of your favourite solo’s or tunes) can be really useful in establishing a clear goal to work towards and then breaking it down into achievable bite-size chunks. It also helps me to see what makes you tick and introduce you to new things that I think you’ll love!
I’ll also make sure we cover the interchangeable musical skills that will set you up for your journey as a musician; theory, reading, notation, improvisation and technique. With a good knowledge of these, you’re on your way to playing anything you want!
