About Fariha
Hello, I am a PhD student in theoretical quantum physics at UCL. I have a first class Masters degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Warwick, and a distinction in my Master of Research degree in Quantum Technologies from UCL. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teaching in various contexts, and have been for 6+ years. I take immense pride in helping students unlock their potential and see learning from new perspectives.
I would like to offer help with Maths and Physics, from Years 7 up to A Level. My aim is for my students to achieve the highest possible grades they can, and also develop an understanding and enthusiasm of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects, so they could potentially pursue these at higher levels, and more generally benefit from the types of skills they encompass.
I have experience with students of different ages, from specially curating topics for primary school maths students, up to undergraduates in both Maths and Physics. I also have experience in delivering lessons in different styles, from Skype where I make use of an interactive whiteboard to communicate the lesson content, to individual one-on-one sessions, where I take care in understanding my pupil: how they learn best, and giving extra attention where it is needed. I also carry this level of attention to detail forward to group teaching (I have tutored groups of five in the past), where I ensure no student's needs are neglected.
Doing a PhD means that I have lots of practice in being able to communicate and present complicated ideas to a variety of audiences, and knowing how to cater to unique backgrounds. I put a lot of my soul into my work, and work very hard to be a positive influence and source of support and comfort for my students.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy indoor and outdoor rock climbing and cycling.

Perfect! Great tutor
I’m a foundation year student who was having trouble with a discrete maths module. The lesson was great as Fariha was very well prepared. We managed to get through everything in our session and I left feeling more confident in the areas I was struggling with. Her explanations were clear. She answered all of my questions and was willing to repeat anything I was struggling with. I would definitely recommend her for all levels and I would book again.
