About Evie
Maths was always my strongest subject at school. I like the way it involves problems which are both complex and satisfying to solve. I am training to become a teacher because I have always gained great pleasure in the simple act of helping someone understand a seemingly incomprehensible problem, and would relish the opportunity to do this as a career. Working with children is something I have always thoroughly enjoyed, and feel I have the necessary skills and ability to encourage and even inspire them.
I have tutoring experience from being a Sixth Form tutor at my school, and have also worked with children in a number of job roles, including being a student ambassador, youth group leader and sports coach. I am starting a Maths PGCE this September at the University of Bristol, and am currently studying a Maths course so it is all very fresh and relevant in my mind! I am looking to tutor anyone who needs help with their Mathematics at school and wants an engaging and enthusiastic tutor that they will remember!
I believe my organisational and time management skills, and my motivating and approachable nature, are attributes I can confidently utilise while tutoring. My personal development has benefited from involvement in sports and music – playing football and korfball for University teams and singing for the University Acapella group.
