About Emma
My name is Emma, I grew up in London and achieved 10 a*s and 1 a (in art) at gcse, and 2 A*s 2As at A level, including full marks in all parts of my English A Level. In 2018 I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a strong upper second class degree in philosophy, after which I undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law which I completed with distinction. I am about to start a masters in Law at University College London and hope to ultimately become a criminal barrister.
I have vast experience in tutoring both younger and older students. Whilst I was at school I tutored a number of younger students, largely in sciences and french. I also have experience with helping students prepare for oxbridge interviews having been invited back to my school in previous years to help current applicants. Last year I was also involved in a program that helps Chinese students with Cambridge interview preparation. Further to this I have extensive experience tutoring for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams.
What sets me apart from other tutors in my absolute commitment to my students both during the lesson and beyond. As i am only working part time I am nearly always available for any further questions my students have. I ask my students to tell me exactly what they are struggling with a day or two before the lesson is scheduled and to send over any past paper question or school work that they are struggling with so i have ample time to properly prepare and plan a lesson according to the needs of the student. As a 22 year old i find it easy to engage with teenagers and younger children, and as i have taken GCSE's and a levels comparatively recently i understand the specific difficulties and worries that students have at those times. I have kept a large majority of my notes from when i was doing all my exams and as such am happy to share those with my students if they feel it would be helpful.

Emma was always reliable and on time, very engaging to listen to, and friendly and relaxing to speak to. Patient in explaining difficult concepts to me.
When I was in my final year of university Emma helped me in weekly sessions with a philosophy and literature paper by introducing me to various philosophers and teaching me about Virtue Ethics, utilitarianism and deontological ethics. She introduced me to the principles of various philosophers including Nussbaum, Aristotle and Mill, and was really helpful.
