About Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I am a friendly, enthusiastic person and have just graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Biological Sciences. I loved my time at Oxford and now hope to inspire other students to enjoy learning as much as I have done. I believe that academic success is not only measured by good grades but also by improvements in self-confidence, motivation and enjoyment. All students are different and I hope to work with my students to accomplish these things in a way that best suits them.
I have over 60 hours of tutoring experience. I have tutored Physiology and Biomedical university students in essay writing and technique and multiple students in both A-Level and GSCE Science and Maths. Additionally, I have spent time teaching in a school in Ghana. All my students have returned for more sessions and have been extremely grateful for my help. I believe this illustrates my ability and I look forward to being to help you or your child in a similar way.
Reference from a German student tutored in A-Level Biology:
‘I struggled to understand a lot of Biology topics as they were covered very quickly in class and the language barrier made it extra difficult. I was and I still am very grateful for Emily’s help. She explained everything very patiently to me.
I successfully passed my biology A-Level exams in the summer of 2015 and I can truly say that I couldn’t have done that without her continuous help and support.
Emily also showed me a way to start enjoying studying in a completely new way. She showed me a way to get inspired and fascinated by biology. I’m now studying medicine and loving the biology part in it.’

Emily was an excellent aid to my study of Biomedical sciences last year. She is thoroughly scientifically literate and quick to process ideas and explain them to me in a manner I could understand. Equally impressive was the patience she showed when explaining new ideas to me that at first I found hard to grasp.
Furthermore she was incredibly helpful in going over early drafts of my work. She has a knack of finding weaknesses in a piece of work, suggesting possible improvements and introducing new ideas and directions to a biological discussion.Emily's expertise on academic writing has helped me improve the structuting of my essays and taught me how to be more crtical when writing.
