About Emily
Hi!
I am a biology graduate with a 1st class degree from the University of Nottingham and I am passionate about helping students excel in their studies. I am a friendly and patient individual who takes great fullfillment out of unlocking a students academic potential, whilst hopefully imparting my enthusiasm for the subject.
I mentored first year students at university, improving their understanding as well as helping them adapt to new forms of teaching and examination styles. I found I had a real affinity for one on one tutoring and I knew it was something I wanted to continue with.
I strongly believe understanding is the key to both excelling academically and enjoying a subject. Improving understanding of a subject makes you more able to adapt to a wide range of questions, as well as making it easier to learn and build upon the concepts taught. As well as deepening their understanding, I will also aim to ensure students are fully familiarised with mark schemes and exam technique, allowing them to optimise their revision time and making sure their marks reflect their true capability!
