Guitar lessons from an experienced professional guitarist.

Ever wanted to learn the guitar? Want to pick up lessons again? Stuck in a rut and need someone to give you pointers in a new direction?

I am a professional gigging musician based in South London. I'm a singer/songwriter and guitarist, and I average 120 live shows a year, from concert halls and festivals to folk clubs and pubs.

I play both acoustic and electric guitars. On acoustic guitar, I specialise in open tunings and percussive techniques as used by Eric Roche, Michael Hedges, Jon Gomm, Newton Faulkner etc.

I can teach a range of styles and areas on both electric and acoustic guitar - blues, folk, rock, pop, improvising, fingerpicking, slide guitar, open tunings.

All levels welcome - from beginners wanting to learn their first songs to players needing help in new areas. All study materials will be provided (tablature, sheets etc). I ensure lessons are fun and engaging, and am happy to work at the pace of the student. I have a 100% student exam pass rate. I have previously taught for four years at a secondary school, along with many guitar an songwriting workshops at festivals, folk clubs, music colleges and both primary and secondary schools.

I have Grade 8 Rockschool, along with Grade 5 Theory, Grade 6 Classical Vocals, Grade 5 pop vocals, along with 8 years performing and teaching experience. I have also been DBS checked.

I can also offer help with songwriting, performance and singing techniques.

I am happy to be flexible, to work with your schedule and will travel to teach you at your own home.

I am based in Hither Green, near Catford and Lewisham but am happy to travel.

Let's make some music!

Elliott Morris by Veronica Addis (Head of Music, QEGS Horncastle)

Elliott taught guitar at my school for 4 years. He was always punctual, well-presented and planned his appropriately understanding the needs of the individual students. He liaised with me regarding exam preparation and he provided a detailed written report to parents on an annual basis. More recently, he led a song writing workshop with a small group of students. They responded positively to him and were keen to compose and try out ideas. Elliott quickly identified who needed extra support and did this subtly with an encouraging approach. Elliott is an exceptional role model; a very talented guitarist, teacher, songwriter and performer. I would commend him wholeheartedly.

Elliott opened the conference by performing to 150 young people at Key Stage 4 & Key Stage 5 levels. He delivered one of our key KS5 workshops for 35 music students providing advice on song writing and performance.
