About Dr Ariana
As an experienced teacher, examiner, lecturer and psychologist, I am in a key position to help my students and clients achieve their goals, whatever these may be. My forte is my attention to detail, which allows me to quickly pick up on the specifics that might be preventing someone from achieving what they'd like, whether these are technical elements, or psychological - it's often a combination of both.
I also have a strong ethic regarding removing obstacles that impede learning, and so I offer concessionary rates and even free services to those who would not be able to afford my services otherwise, as I feel no-one should be disadvantaged from receiving the specialist support I provide. Please ask me for further details.
TUITION
The age range I teach is from Year 4 right through to adult. The younger students often come to me for help with their English skills (reading, writing and speaking) and regularly gain Scholarships, and then tuition progresses throughout their GCSEs and A Levels, where I also offer Psychology and Drama. For those who are looking to enter university, I coach them through the application process from their personal statement through to interview technique. This includes preparation for the writing tasks in the BMAT, TSA, ACT and SAT tests. I am particularly proud and honoured to have a 100% success rate in my students achieving target grades and gaining school and university offers.
Having taught in a variety of schools, from the most challenging behaviourally, to having led the department of the highest achieving comprehensive in the country, I have developed a variety of skills and techniques that benefit all kinds of learners - the committed, as well as the reluctant!
I also particularly enjoy working with people who have extra challenges that make it difficult for them to achieve their aspirations- whether developmental, physical, psychological, behavioural or financial. As both an experienced teacher and psychologist, my empathic and and also strategic approach to learning has enabled many of my students and clients to achieve their goals.
I generally tutor from my home in Kenley, Croydon, or via Skype; however, I work in the City on Fridays, so something could be arranged for me to meet with you on those days if you cannot come to me.

COACHING
Having been a professional performer (dancer, singer, actress and choreographer) for 20 years, both in London and abroad, I am able to prepare students for acting and dance school admissions.
COUNSELLING AND THERAPY
I work with clients with a range of issues, who wish to understand themselves better, build on their strengths, manage certain difficulties, and generally live more fruitful lives. I see both adults and young people for individual as well as couple and family therapy. I have a practice conveniently located in the City and also see clients in the Croydon area, as well as holding sessions via Skype.
PROFESSIONAL CAREER
I have enjoyed a long professional career in all my specialist areas, having published my work as an author and poet, been a professional performer for twenty years, (I was trained in choreography for four years by the fabulous Matthew Bourne at the Royal Academy of Dancing) and now I have my own private practice as a counselling psychologist.
It's this unrivalled enthusiasm and appreciation of all-round learning that I look to pass on to my students and clients, so that learning - whether it's academic, or about yourself - remains inspirational and rewarding - just as it should be.

I was incredibly fortunate to be taught by Ariana Jordan for nearly three years; for me she wasn't just an english tutor, she was also a valuable mentor. She's kind, patient, and explains things clearly.
Ariana has tutored my daughter in gcse English & this year A level psychology. Not only has she helped her understand her subject but has given her confidence in herself. I can not recommend her enough.
I was privileged to be tutored by Ariana for my IELTS English exam and I could not wish for a better qualified and effective teacher. Ariana is professional, super friendly and always on time. She taught me lots of simple and practical exam techniques as well as tips to help me structure my writing!
I booked 10 lessons with Ariana and it was such a massive improvement, especially with reading, writing and grammar. I am glad I found Arianna, I couldn't wish for a better teacher!!!I attended Ariana’s lessons on a weekly basis to aid me with my GCSE English, her enthusiasm combined with her passion and incredibly effective lessons allowed me to gain my target grade in English. Her lessons were always well structured and she often taught using acronyms which were easy to remember and helped with GCSE exam technique. Thank you so much Ariana.
Erin'I struggled to pass my mock exam in English language in year ten, but after attending Ariana's tuition I began to pick up marks again , I eventually achieved a B in my GCSE and she gave me confidence to enrol in A level English literature which I left with an A in at GCSE. I would recommend the Easter workshop for literature which was most helpful!'
