About Donagh
Secondary school DT teacher with many years teaching every age to A levels. A masters graduate of Trinity College Dublin and undergraduate of the University of Limerick with a honours degree in Design Technology and Education. I have been a teacher and a tutor for 8 years to all levels of DT and entrance exams and interview prep for all top UK schools. I have also been an A Level examiner for the Pearson Edexcell and Oxford, Cambridge and RSA (OCR) exam boards.
I'm known for being patient, kind, supportive, enthusiastic and professional. I have very positive relationships with all of my students; older students will often call just before exams to calm nerves, send me messages afterwards and when results come out to let me know how happy they are, and feel comfortable approaching me for guidance even outside of our formal tutoring hours. For younger students, parents will often do the same.
I am a highly motivated and focused individual with an ambition to succeed. I have an avid interest in STEM education, student centred learning and entrepreneurialism and how it can be successfully applied to foster a culture of innovation among technology students. I am the founder of a company which is a learning management system for secondary school STEM subjects. I have helped my previous clients attain bursary awards into independent secondary schools and anything less than an A is unacceptable. I take on only a few students a year but I am fully committed to each one I take on.

Don is an excellent tutor. He explains concepts very clearly, and his teaching is methodical and thorough. During the lesson he writes summaries of what he teaches, which I found very helpful in my revision. In addition to tutoring me in A-level DT he also helped me with parts of my A-level coursework module and Arkwright Scholarship in year 10 that I was struggling with. Although he started tutoring me only 3 weeks before the exam, the quality of his tuition allowed me to prepare myself in the best possible way.
Don worked with my daughter for her 11 plus admission to Winchester and my 16 year old son for his DT GSCE. Although he was booked up at the time he was able to attend on the weekends and help both my children get exactly what they wanted. My son went from C to A* and my daughter was accepted to Winchester based on Don amazing ability to formulate a plan that meets her potential and shine in the 11plus admission exam. Although a female she has a big interest in social good and Don was able to formulate this passion into a DT type product that she was able to amaze the interview panel with. In conclusion Don is more than a tutor, he has become a family friend due to his genuine love for the kids he works for and I attribute both my kids success on him alone. He inspired my kids to be creative and he still tutors my kids and they have their own ongoing little DT projects to do.
My son is attending Eton and plans on becoming an engineer and attend uni in the states. All of this is because we invited Don to tutor our sob for his 11 plus and to create a mini workshop to make DT products. Best decision we made because it has allowed our once passive son to reach his potential.
