Dominica’s engaging personality, high expectations and superb subject knowledge, as well as her rigorous planning, teaching and assessment across the curriculum, make her an outstanding 11+ tutor with a distinguished track record.
In addition to being an experienced and fully qualified teacher, Dominica is an Associate Member of the Dyslexia Guild and holds a Professional Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy. She is therefore qualified to offer certificated educational assessment and tailored intervention programmes for children and adults with literacy difficulties.
She offers lessons at pupils' homes, at her home and on-line, using Zoom, Skype and Google Classroom. Normal on-line duration is 1 hour; 1 hour to 90 minutes for face-to-face lessons.
For ten years, she has tutored candidates for 11+ and 13+ and has an impeccable success rate with a wide range of independent and selective schools, including: Alleyn's, Benenden, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Dulwich College, Emanuel, Harrow, JAGS, Redbridge and Sutton Grammars, St Mary's, Tiffin Girls/Boys and Whitgift schools. Of course, such success is founded on a child’s ability, but Dominica tutors specifically to each school’s entrance requirements (using their examination materials whenever possible) and her methods, techniques and resources foster and maximise natural talent.

Dominica tutored my daughter for her 11plus English exam. She is fantastic!
My daughter passed her 11 plus exams with flying colours gaining offers to several top U.K. boarding schools and an academic scholarship.
Prior to engaging Dominica my daughter had attended several 11 plus classes and creative writing/ English courses. However, her creative writing and comprehension still needed a lot of work.
We engaged Dominica in October and she worked with my daughter to improve her English especially her creative writing.
Dominica takes her time to prepare for each lesson and sets specific homework to reinforce what she has taught.
Dominica is also very knowledgeable about the 11plus exams and the various schools. She will provide your child with all the necessary tools to succeed in their exams.

I wish we had found Dominica sooner. She has truly helped our children. Dominica recognizes each child as a unique individual. As such she teaches them as an individual, understanding and celebrating that each child learns at their own pace and in their own way. She is a gift to the field of education.
Dominica worked with our 11 year old daughter for one year, supporting her with her English and Maths. She was superb at identifying areas of weakness from the get go and really helped build our daughter’s confidence, particularly in English composition. We still use her flashcards! She put so much interest and effort and really tailored her approach. She was firm yet funny, a perfect combination. Really experienced and passionate. As a parent she also gave me lots of guidance and support. I recommend her 100%!
