I am originally from the French-speaking part of Switzerland and today enjoy living in Manchester where I am combining my two Bachelor’s degrees, in Design and Sociology, developing a research project about sustainability challenges. As a designer, I worked in Austria, The Netherlands, and Norway. I finished this year a Bachelor in Sociology with an exchange at the University of Technolgy in Sydney taking communication courses in social sciences and documentary making.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, drawing, visiting art galleries with my fiancee, jogging and reading about the latest discoveries in Artificial Intelligences and Biotechnologies.
Over the past 10 years, I have been a counsellor and teacher in several countries, including the United States and the Czech Republic. Working with an international non-profit volunteer organisation bringing children together from various cultural backgrounds, I have been helping 8-18 years old people gain confidence, develop leadership skills and be creative. As a professional designer, I tutored design students, assisting them with their projects and encouraging active learning and collaboration. In Sydney, I tutored young children in French besides my studies and I am looking forward to continuing tutoring in the UK.
When it comes to helping students succeed, I believe that a considerate and positive attitude is key to building confidence and achieving goals. I enjoy working with students of all ages and I am passionate to assist and motivate struggling learners. From my experience, tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace, making the subject more enjoyable. I use creative methods of teaching and encourage young people and adults to think outside the box.
