About Delia
I am a former secondary school teacher of Spanish and French in the North West of England. I have been living in London for three and a half years now and tutoring here all this time. I have more than 5 years of language teaching and tutoring experience.
I thoroughly enjoy taking students on a learning journey and seeing them progress with time. I studied French and Hispanic Studies at The University of Nottingham on a four year course which allowed me to perfect my languages during language and grammar specific modules. During my year abroad I worked with a variety of students ranging from 12 to 50 years old and this experience in particular helped me to gauge my teaching material to the ability and interest of the students. More recently, I have also been lucky to tutor younger students in primary school to help them get started with language learning. I can cater for all needs and ensure that the student gets the most out of the time spent with me.
I strive to create engaging lessons and presentations which can capture a student's imagination and motivate them to stay focused on the task. I will listen to what the student wants and I aim to teach the lesson in a relaxed atmosphere where the student finds it easy to ask questions. Through my teacher training, I have become more knowledgeable in what is available on the web for language learning and have got an extensive portfolio of useful resources which I will happily share with my students. I believe that practice makes perfect and I will encourage my students to put in some extra work at home.

Delia is a great tutor as she makes sure that she adapts each lesson to cover my needs, and she ensures that she teaches me things I can use on a daily basis compared to the textbook style I was used to in school. She also uses a lot of conversational Spanish in the lesson and is very encouraging when I get things wrong. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to more classes with her.
