About Danielle
Whether it's literature or language, whether you're six or sixty, I believe that the study of English should be engaging, creative and fun.
I am an Oxford graduate with a First Class Degree in English literature, along with a TEFL qualification and a decade of experience working in-person and online with students of all kinds. I specialise in English Literature for GCSE and A Level, English as a foreign language (including IELTS and business English), eleven plus, school entrance, and Oxbridge entrance.
In my tutoring style I aim to take a friendly and flexible approach. Whether it's a few one-off sessions for an adult ESOL learner looking to gain confidence in English conversation, exam technique coaching before GCSE, A Level or IELTS, or long-term reading, writing and vocabulary development with primary-age students, I ensure my lessons are fun, individual, and tailored to the student's personality.
Along with my private tuition work, I am a scriptwriter, novelist and creative writing teacher. My work has been produced in UK venues such as Southwark Playhouse, The Watermill Theatre and Camden People's Theatre, as well as in international festivals. I like to use my experience in the arts to inform lessons where appropriate - whether that's by incorporating drama games into sessions with younger learners, or using art, music, theatre and film as conversational topics for adult ESOL learners.
