I am an experienced teacher of Sociology, holding a Masters in Sociology with Distinction and a strong passion for the subject since taking it up at A-level. I have taught A-level Sociology in grammar school and college environments, and am driven by the desire to develop students' knowledge and passion for sociology at any level. I am familiar, in particular, with the (new) AQA specification for A-level, but am not limited to this at all.
Academically, I have achieved consistently high grades, winning two prizes in my undergraduate degree for highest overall performance and coursework, and achieved a distinction for my Masters thesis and coursework. I am currently studying for a PhD in Sociology and have a wide ranging and critical knowledge of foundational and contemporary social theories, criminology, the sociology of deviance and social research methods.
I will be able to tutor students at all levels, providing a critical grasp of key sociological ideas and how they can be applied. Furthermore, I can assist with developing skills in presenting arguments in written and verbal form, as well as proofreading coursework and essays.
