About Curtis

This is the ethos I have when approaching teaching and learning. I believe in building understanding from the ground upwards, as I think understanding a subject rather than just knowing a subject is the key to academic success.
In order to achieve this, whether I am teaching or self-studying, I like to utilise all types of resources available to aid in learning. This may include videos, mind-maps, books, etc - because there are abundant ways of learning new information.
But first and foremost, I believe that building self-confidence and belief is very important. We all have the ability to learn new and seemingly challenging concepts if we first believe we can. The next steps are easy - consistent, varied work which helps the mind build connections - ensuring the information sticks!
