Recent grad, passionate that maths can be taught to anyone
I have been interested in teaching maths since my sixth form studies when I was taught by a teacher who really approached things differently. He didn’t like giving us the answers, despised calculators, and had a real problem with grades. Sounds unorthodox, but it’s fair to say his attitude changed the way I thought, not only about maths, but also about the discipline of teaching.
I am very passionate about the idea that with a little persistence and good teaching, anyone can “get” maths. It is all too easy for kids to get the impression that maths is an inherent talent that they do or don’t have the knack for, but I firmly disagree with this standpoint. As I see it, with the right teaching, there’s no reason anybody shouldn’t be able to get the A or A* they deserve.
I will be patient, understanding, and supportive with your son or daughter, I will make sure to engage in a dialogue with them, so that we can work at the right pace and not leave them reeling with too much information, and I will leave them with not only a keen mathematical ability, but hopefully an intellectual curiosity that will stay with them for life.
My speciality is in tutoring Maths and Further Maths at GCSE or A-Level. Although I’m happy to come and administer some final exam preparation help to struggling students, my preference is for a more long term role, as I feel it is very important to have a solid tutor-tutee relationship to allow the pupil to be comfortable in the learning environment.
I'm a 30 years old professional, working for high end visual effects for movies and I simply don't have time to learn all the mathematics: I need a focus on the skills involved in computer graphics.
Conrad's great talent is to understand exactly what I need from a practical point of view and to connect the dots in order to make sense of a specific topic.
I'm already using succesfully some of the knowledge I have learnt from him and I'm definitely going to stick with him in the future
Easy going but focussed

Conrad wrote a clear, friendly and direct result to our request for a tutor ( y7 maths). He emphasized with our daughter ( and detailed his own path and early difficulties ) but also delivered a clearly structured session. Highly recommend this amiable and intelligent young man.
