About Clara
I am an experienced Latin and Classics tutor, offering lessons for all ages in Latin from absolute beginners level through to A-level, and in Classics/Classical Civilisation from beginners through to A-Level.
I have both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Classics from the University of St Andrews (Master of Arts with Honours in Latin and Classical Studies, and Master of Letters in Classics).
I am a patient, understanding and perceptive teacher, driven by a passion for my subject and desire to help others succeed and make the most of their endeavours in Classics and Latin. I tailor lessons and tweak teaching method to according to each the aims, needs and progress of each individual student.
My passion for sociolinguistics means my lessons contain helpful anecdotes linking the subject material with modern society and languages. These not only solidify learning and further understanding, but also keep lessons enjoyable and inspiring for students.
I speak several European languages fluently, and offer Latin lessons in French too, for French native speakers.
