About Claire
My professional life has been devoted to the assessment and teaching of English and literacy skills across the age range. My early career was as a secondary school teacher of French and English. I later specialised in literacy and returned to university to gain further qualifications. My later experience, prior to retirement was in higher education.
Soon after retiring as Head of Dyslexia Services at University College London I was appointed MBE for Services to Students with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia in Her Majesty's New Year Honours list 2015. I now give English tuition across the school age range (KS1 - A level) and French up to GCSE.
I have extensive experience of assessment and tuition in English language, literature and literacy skills across the age range (primary to graduate) including teaching spoken and written English to speakers of English as an additional language. Qualifications include MSc, BA, PGCE across the age range (primary to graduate) and RSA Dip.SpLD.
