To teach GCSE, AS and A level LAW and SOCIOLOGY.
I also offer ENGLISH LANGUAGE and ENGLISH LITERATURE tuition to Year 2 children up to A level, to support learning and help students to get the best out of the subject.
I am a qualified solicitor, having trained and worked in the City, and also have a Certificate in Education from Canterbury Christ Church.
I have taught AS level law to students at a large Sixth Form College in Kent
and for the past few years have been the law tutor at Kent Adult Education Centre. I have had a 100% excellent rating from the students on all the courses I have run at KAE. Last academic year, I taught GCSE LAW to students (AQA) so am fully familiar with the syllabus and up to date with changes in the law.
I would enjoy helping any students who need assistance with their legal studies, and hope to bring the law to life with relevant examples from practice.
I look forward to hearing from you! (I have a DBS certificate for KAE).
I am also happy to proof read/offer advice on applications for Training contracts/pupillages/vacation placements at law firms.
In respect of ENGLISH tuition, this is to support students alongside the National Curriculum, from SATs in year 2 upwards. I hope my love of ENGLISH would inspire your child. Available to home schooled children too, as a boost/outside support to their learning.
I was lucky enough to be taught GCSE Law by Claire as part of adult evening classes. Due to her excellent teaching I managed to achieve an A* in just one year! Claire was very thorough in her preparation of lessons and in the compilation of really useful handouts which eased the learning process. He obvious depth of knowledge was conveyed in an enthusiastic and interesting way. No class was ever tedious and she was ready to answer any questions we posed her, making the explanations very understandable. I wholly recommend using Claire's skills as her friendly and conscientious attitude makes learning fun too!
To whom it may concern.
My name is Daniel and I studied GCSE Law with Ms Claire Hughes as the tutor in the year 2015/16.
Ms Hughes taught the lessons with great teaching skills, qualities of delivering class involvement with enthusiasm and the ability to engage the classroom.
Ms Hughes highly valued contribution to the GCSE Law course led me to continue in further education in this subject as she made it so enjoyable & very interesting to learn.

Claire reviewed my applications for training contracts /law school which consisted of short answer and essay questions. She was very responsive and provided her edits and suggestions on time and very efficiently. Her advice made sense and helped me make my writing more clear and strong.
