Professional online tutor. Experienced teacher and examiner

I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher of Physics, Science and GCSE/IGCSE Maths. I have a Research Masters in Surface and Interface Science and a PhD in Physics, both from the University of Liverpool.

I have been teaching since 2007 and have worked in both the UK system and British International Schools teaching KS3 and GCSE/IGCSE Combined Science, Physics and Maths as well as A Level (and IAL) Physics. Prior to becoming a full time online tutor I was Head of Science in a British International school in Spain.

In addition to my teaching background I also have five years experience as an examiner of both A Level and International A Level Physics for two exam boards. Over the last two years I have also been an examiner of GCSE Physics.
I have an in depth knowledge of, and resources for all UK exam boards including WJEC, CCEA and the SQA Nationals. I have also tutored a number of IB students at both SL and HL/AHL.

I have been working as an online tutor for a number of years and have experience of teaching Primary maths and science as well preparation for Common Entrance exams and 11+.

I have also supported international students through non-UK examinations.

In the past I have also worked as an associate lecturer for the Open University, teaching introductory maths courses, and have presented at events all over the UK as a science communicator, so I am skilled at explaining complex ideas in a straightforward and engaging way.

I am easy to talk to and very understanding. Quite often I find it is a lack of confidence that holds students back, and once this is overcome they improve rapidly. With my wide range of resources I can help you both understand the underlying principles and give you lots of that, all important, practice in tackling exam questions.

I work in an on-line classroom where we can share a whiteboard and resources. You do need a stable internet connection plus some headphones if possible.

Long term private tuition may not be suitable in every case. I can offer a range of options to suit your needs and budget. These are particularly useful for students who need help with applying what they have learned in class to exam questions.

Please contact me to discuss how I can help, or to request a time slot not showing as available and I will do my best to accommodate you.
If you have any questions at all please ask and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

First lesson with Christine

I had my first lesson with Christine today for KS3 Physics and Biology. She is such a great teacher, as she teaches me, reviews any queries, then goes through questions with me. Her interactive whiteboard is very useful, (as well as Skype) because I can write or say what I think and she can also correct it or write notes. I can review this interactive lesson anytime after the lesson.
Christine is a very good teacher.

Expert tutor, very reasonably priced, highly recommended

Christine is everything I was looking for in a tutor: a very experienced teacher; an expert in physics; an expert in the specific exam in question, and the system including University admission; an examiner with a wide range of relevant resources; who is always well prepared; professional; a kind person who cares and you get much more than just that hour's worth of tuition. Having a tutor like Christine is frankly an unfair advantage.

My son is starting to feel excited by the challenge of the approaching exam season instead of overwhelming dread.
