About Chris
I am an Irish guitarist, composer and teacher, based in London.
As a teacher, I work collaboratively with my students, and place participation and ownership at the heart of what I do. I am a strong communicator, and I am skilled at imparting technical concepts to students of all levels. Above all, I try to foster a sense of ownership, and impart skills that students can reuse and build upon in their creative and technical pursuits.
I studied Music at Trinity College, Dublin and Composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, on scholarships from the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust and the Guildhall School Trust, and Classical Guitar at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, with Marion Hyland.
As a composer, my work has been performed by, among others - Crash Ensemble, players of the London Symphony Orchestra, Plus Minus Ensemble, Liam Byrne, EXAUDI Vocal Ensemble, Dr. John Feeley, Ensemble Adesso and the Dublin Laptop Orchestra.
